Leonard Susskind is considered the "bad boy" of physics - has a very unique background he was the sun of working class family in NY of Jewish heritage and rebelled in high school as he was too smart. Even in college he tried engineering first but was told that he was too smart to be an engineer and should try physics. Luckily he listened and ended being one of the pioneers of String theory. He also believes that trying to introduce philosophical meaning to physics is inherently flawed
